There is absolutely nothing I love more then the scent of these cinnamon rolls baking in the oven. These are the perfect treat for any celebration or even just to treat yourself( you deserve it). Don’t be intimidated by the process, it is actually super easy and I guarantee it will encourage your love for baking and inspire you to make other baking recipes you’ve always wants to try out. I used EarthBalance Vegan Buttery Spread for this recipe but you could also use coconut oil or any light tasting oil, You can also get super creative with the icing and even try it with nuts, dried fruits or maybe even chocolate.
3 Cups All purpose Flour
1 Packet of Rapid Active Yeast or 2 tblsp.
1/4 Cup Brown Sugar
1 1/2 Cups Warm Water
2 Tblsp. Earth Balance Buttery (melted) Spread sub Vegetable or Coconut Oil
1 Tblsp. Cinnamon
1/4 Cup Sugar
2 Tblsp. Earth Balance Buttery Spread sub Vegetable or Coconut Oil
In a small bowl add warm water and yeast and set aside for 10 minutes. Add all flour to a large mixing bowl, after the yeast has been activated by the warm water add to mixing bowl along with melted earth balance.
Stir dough with large wooden spoon until it comes together and then empty out onto clean work surface and kneed until it becomes a cohesive ball.Lightly grease bowl with Earth Balance or oil and let rise for 40 minutes or until dough has doubled in size.
Once dough has risen, flour work surface and roll out dough until it is 1/4 inch thick. Its optional that you can cut dough in a rectangle shape before spreading filling out on entire surface leaving a 1 inch lip to seal roll.
Once you have your Cinnamon roll formed, cut in half and then cut into individual rolls. Place in baking pan, and cover with plastic wrap and let rise for 30 minutes or until has doubled in size.
Preheat Oven to 350 F. and bake for 20 mins.
Glaze or Ice your Cinnamon rolls as desired, I did a super simple mixture of icing sugar and almond milk with a little vanilla. Serve hot with Tea or Coffee.
I hope you guys try these out, they are simply amazing ! Please let me know if you do, happy baking 🙂
